I am a Performance Maker.


I use this description because it encompasses all of the elements of my work: Director / Performer / Workshop Facilitator / Producer. And because some of the work I make might be best described as Live Art or installation and some of it might be best described as theatre. All of the work I make is visual, it is very often physical and it is regularly musical.

When making work I may be a facilitator, performer or director. My role depends on the conceptual and practical aims of the work and often transcends traditional boundaries. I also work across performance disciplines: from installation to proscenium arch to new-writing to devised children's theatre to live music performances... I have a particular interest in creating work with non-professional artists and an ongoing research project exploring the line between “professional” and “not-professional”.
