3rd RING OUT, REHEARSING THE FUTURE
August 2011, Grassmarket Edinburgh

Image by Xana Marwick, created in the Strategy Cell

3rd Ring Out is a performance and installation that imagines the future. It takes place in two specially adapted Shipping Containers. The Emergency Cell and the Strategy Cell. The performance / simulation takes place in the Emergency Cell whilst an ongoing interactive installation takes place in the Strategy Cell.

I and a number of other artists were invited to spend time in the Strategy Cell responding to the ideas and votes put forward by participants in the simulation and the public who passed through the cell.

Please see the website for more information about this extraordinary performance.

OTHER, OTHER WORK
A Wakaka Kitchen Lecture as part of Annuale Art Festival, July 2011

A lecture demonstration by Xana and Dougal Marwick exploring life / work balance.

This playful, interactive, multi media performance invited the audience to take part in a delicious home cooked meal and to hold a round table discussion about the artists Xana and Dougal Marwick whilst they struggled to present a performance about themselves using a variety of materials including pre-recorded and live sound.

SHOOTING TRUTH
by Molly Davies

Lyceum Edinburgh, 17 June, 7pm
Platform, Glasgow, Thu 10th and Fri 11 Mar at 7pm, Sat 12th, Mar 11th at 2.30pm

Eight teenagers embark on a school film-making project, convinced that they are going to make something truly groundbreaking, something absolutely original, something that no one else would ever make.

When Alice the school geek gets involved and suggests they make a historical film about a local teenage witch called Freya things start to get serious and, when one of the group suggests they take their film-making techniques to a new and more extreme level, it begins to get really out of hand.

Behold, behold the power that is Freya
Beware, beware the power that is Freya
No one shall make her steal embroidered shoes no more
And no one will dare call her ‘little runt’ again
